Thousands Of Muslims Protest Over Blasphemous Speech Against Prophet Muhammad In India

Muslims took to the streets in huge protests around Asia sparked by remarks about the Prophet Mohammed by an Indian ruling party official that embroiled the country in a diplomatic storm.

Anger has engulfed the Islamic world since last week when a spokeswoman for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ruling party commented on the relationship between the prophet and his youngest wife on a TV debate show.

Sharma later withdrew her remarks and said it was never her intention to “hurt anyone’s religious feelings.” On Twitter, Sharma said her words were a response to derogatory comments made during the debate about a Hindu god.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Iran and Pakistan have registered protests made by BJP’s national spokesperson during a recent televised debate.

Several of these countries summoned Indian ambassadors to denounce the derogatory statements. Calling the comments Islamophobic, Qatar has demanded a public apology from India.

They want the ruling party to know that the hate that has been directed against Muslims in India can be tolerated, but they must know that an insult against Prophet Muhammad will not be tolerated. They view her speech as blasphemy and wants her executed for speaking against prophet Muhammad.
