Nollywood actor and pastor Yul Edochie has admonished award-winning singer, Davido not to quit music.
Hours ago, Davido had via his Twitter account, vowed to quit music, noting how many want him out of the game so badly. Succumbing to them, he promised to quit the industry after his next album so they could have peace.
His statement divided many, with some begging for him to stay while others called him out for his victim mentality.
Reacting to it, Yul Edochie admonished him not to give room for trolls as he noted how they always troll great people who are steadily making headlines.
He questioned why he would retire for them, as he noted how the singer is a blessing to Nigeria and Africa. Yul begged him to keep giving us as he added that losers will never stop hating.
“Retire for who?
Retire cos of trolls?
When God made you great?
Trolls will always troll great people.
Great people, steady making headlines.
You’re a blessing to Nigeria, to Africa.
Keep giving us hits.
Losers will never stop hating.
Tell them, DIA FADA!
BOMBARDIER!!
001.
@davido”.
Similarly, his rival, Wizkid, last year blasted his millions of fans, pressuring him to make new music.
In a series of posts on his Instagram, Wizkid revealed that he was on holiday and would return in 4 years, as he wanted to enjoy the fruit of his labour. He added that he could extend the vacation to 5 years or venture into a new career.
In a tweet, Davido made a revelation about his musical journey, expressing that since he came into the game, nobody has had peace. He went on to reveal that he loved that effect.
In a recent interview, Davido joined his colleagues, Burna Boy and Wizkid, to distance himself from Afrobeat, as he lamented the stereotyping of African artists in the Afrobeats genre regardless of their musical style.
He described his genre of music as Afro-fusion as he noted how Afrobeat is a sound originally pioneered by Fela Kuti, but now all African songs are termed Afrobeats.
