Former Senate President and former Governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, and Ghandi Olaoye were among the strong forces that sent the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu packing from Osu State following the outcome of the just concluded state governorship election.

聽Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared winner聽of the hotly contested election.
The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe had declared Senator Adeleke the winner early Sunday morning.
Adeleke defeated his closest rival, the incumbent governor, Agboyega Oyetola.
During the election, Senator Saraki, Governor Diri, Governor Obaseki and a host of other PDP stalwarts were seen at the party’s situation room.
These strong men were at the situation room for over 16 hours providing support to the agents in situation room and polling unit agents in the field during the #OsunDecides2022 election.

In the middle of the contest, Asiwaju Tinubu hurriedly left when it was dawning on the party that they were losing the election.
Later, in a viral video, Senator Ademola Adeleke was seen watching the Independent National Electoral Commission declaring the results of the election with Saraki, Governor Diri, his nephew and singer, David Adeleke, popular known as Davido, and supporters.
