‘Same people you joined to plot against me denied you of PDP’s presidential ticket,’ Gbajabiamiala tells Wike – OLOFOFOHUB

Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, has told Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, that the same people he joined to plot a conspiracy against him worked against the governor at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary.

Wike had contested the presidential ticket of the party but lost to former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, who was among the presidential aspirants, stepped down for Atiku during the party’s presidential primary.

Many attributed the victory of Atiku to the act of Tambuwal, who was speaker when Gbajabiamila was majority leader of the lower legislative chamber of the national assembly, according to Daily Trust.

Although the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership had tipped Gbajabiamila as Tambuwal’s successor, Yakubu Dogara was elected speaker.

The nation’s number four citizen, while speaking at the inauguration of the official quarters of the Rivers state house of assembly, on Friday, August 12, taunted Wike by saying that “those he joined to plot a conspiracy against him worked against the governor at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary.”

Gbajabiamila said, “Let me start by thanking the Governor, my friend and brother for inviting me to commission the quarters of the Rivers state house of assembly.

“It is no news, Mr. Governor, that you once plotted against me.

“It is the irony of life, and indeed very interesting, the twist of fate, that the same people who you sat with to plot against me were the same people who sat together at the presidential primary to plot against you.

“Mr. Governor, close foes denied you the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket.

“Plotting against someone who is aiming for a party position is not necessarily a new thing in politics but what is constant is that in politics, there are no permanent enemies, there are no permanent friends but what you have is permanent interest.

“And by God’s grace, this journey that you have started, the journey that you have started that you and I both know shall be permanent.

“Please choke them. Choke every single one who pretended to be your close enemy ,” he added.
