SHAME!! NIS Officer Arrested For Scamming Job Seekers, See How Much She Collected From Them

Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested to a 42- year- old woman identified as Hajirat Egbunu over an alleged job scam.

According to reports, the suspect who is a former official of the Nigerian Immigration Service was based in Abuja. She was said to have collected N3. 4m from some jobseekers, who were issued with fake appointment letters.

Egbunu’ s troubles began on October 4, when the police arrested a man named Ibrahim El- Maki, who was believed to be her link to the victims.

Police were informed by El- Maki that he was also a victim of the suspect, and that he had paid an amount of money for the purported task that was being performed.

However, despite the fact that El- Maki, who was also present at the Katsina police headquarters on Wednesday when the suspect was paraded, stated that Egbunu took N47, 350, 000 from him in exchange for the employment offers, she contended that it was in fact N34, 800, 000.

Describing the personality of Egbunu, the Katsina State State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, saud ” She is a dismissed Nigerian Immigration Service officer and a notorious fraudster, who has been on the wanted list of security agencies for various offences relating to fraud. ”

The command spokesman however urged jobseekers not to be too desperate and to always verify well when approached with job officers.

Surprisingly, Egbunu declined comments on the allegation against her, claiming that El- Maki had already taken her to court over the case.
