Gugulethu Zuma- Ncube Executive Director of Stained Glass Productions

Gugulethu Zuma – Ncube is the daughter of former president Jacob Zuma and the current Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs,

 Dr Nkosazana Dlamini – Zuma

. She is married mathematician Wesley Ncube the son of Zimbabwean politician and opposition leader Prof Welshman Ncube.

Gugulethu Zuma -Ncube first caught our attention on the SABC1 interrogation room in 2007 before moving to feature on SABC3 Isdingo and etv’s Rhythm as a supporting character.

Since then, Gugulethu progressed from solely being an actor to producing content, writing, and running the Herculean production house and Stained Glass Production, responsible for the SABC 1 show Uzalo, eTV show Durban Gen and Ehostela on Mzansi Magic.

Gugulethu is one of the best storytellers in the country, judging from trending past coverage of her shows. She and her team have mastered the skill of telling the true South African story.

Uzalo became the most-watched soapie on SABC 1 after leapfrogging Generations The Legacy. The show depicts the people of the KwaMashu community Durban whose lives revolve around a local church and the never distant element of crime.

Zuma-Ncube and her collective at Stained Glass Productions unshackled everyday stories from the confines of a studio set. Questions were asked about how Gugulethu’s Uzalo scored a R167 million contract with state-owned SABC 1 while his father was at the country’s reigns. Time answered the critics as Uzalo became the household name to all soapie lovers.

The bubbly and multifaceted Executive producer Gugu said, “It feels awesome; I feel very proud of Uzalo; we were able to do some cool staff. Getting to number one in our first year was pretty amazing, as we are getting those sorts of TV history records that we have” In the world of gambling, it often said its best to quit while you’re ahead, but In the arts, it’s quite contrary. When you have the hot hand, you don’t give up your seat on the table, and Zuma-Ncube has no intention of doing that.
