Enugu Barracks Killing: Army Denies Recruiting Repentant Boko Haram Members

The Nigerian Army has declared emphatically that at no time did it enlist repentant Boko Haram members into its fold, saying a report to that effect in social media was born out of mischief.

The Army made this known following reports that a repentant Boko Haram terrorist allegedly absolved himself of the force, and gruesomely murdered his female partner.

Director of Army Public Relations, Major Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu made the declaration in a statement titled, “Re: Repented Boko Haram Member Enlisted into Nigerian Army Slits Woman’s Throat in Enugu Barracks, Hides Corpse.”

SERAP is also seeking “the spending details of any such loans as well as the interests and other payments so far made on the loans.”

NAFDAC Alerts Nigerians to EU Ban on Dex Soap

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has alerted Nigerians on the ban on Dex Luxury Bar Soap (No 6 Mystic Flower), by the European Union (EU).

The notification is contained in a public alert with No. 012/2024, signed by NAFDAC Director-General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, and issued to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.

“The product does not comply with the regulation of cosmetic products; it also contains Butyphenyl Methylpropional (BMHCA), which is prohibited in cosmetic products due to its risk of harming the reproductive system.

“It also causes harm to the health of unborn children and may cause skin sensitization.

“It is as a result of the defective nature of the product that the EU banned it.

“The products are not in the NAFDAC database; importers, distributors, retailers, and consumers are to exercise caution and vigilance within the supply chain,” she said.
